I legit started this blog knowing nothing at all so I wanted to pass the knowledge forward in case any of you guys want some help!

Adding Gadgets

When you are editing the layout of your blog, press add gadget and select HTML/JavaScript to add codes for any of these super cool gadgets. It looks super confusing but I promise once you try a couple times it will make sense. One tip I have for when you add any gadgets is to know the hex codes for the color theme of your blog. It makes things a whole lot easier when you don't have to keep searching for the right hex code.

P.S. I also think it's fun to find cute photos on pinterest or edit them on canva and just add an "Image" widget. You can be super creative with that!

Test Your Luck Button

I actually made this button by playing around with the code for a compliment button. It was a lot of trial and error but basically I changed the text (the fish emojis are from https://emojicombos.com), the colors, and replaced all the compliments with random fortunes I thought of. When you edit a code you have to read through it and figure out what different values apply to, then change it up how you want. A lot of the codes I found include [stuff in square brackets] so you know exactly where to make your edits. If anyone wants the exact code for this button let me know and I will send it to you!

Sticky Note

This is a pretty easy one to start with. Mine has a link to my about me profile on blogger but you could make the link anything you want! The original one has a little push pin on the top but I could not find a photo that didn't have a background that ruined the look, so I just removed it entirely. Here is the link.

Guestbook/Live Chat

This is so fun and I love looking through other peoples to find new blogs to follow! So please leave a link to your blog on mine, it makes it super easy for me to follow you lovely people back :) I got this from https://www.cbox.ws/ . It's also very straightforward honestly! You make an account, edit your colors and such, then press publish and it will give you the link to paste into the gadget!

This one is just one of the basic preset gadgets from blogger itself. BUT someone had to tell me that they had no way to follow me before I added this gadget. So, make sure you add it so people can follow your gorgeous blog!

Sparkle Cursor Trail

It was so hard to take a screenshot of that lol but I tried! To add an effect to your cursor, you want to be on the Theme page.

1. Press Customize

After you have picked a theme, your theme will show up at the top. You wanna click on customize to do all the fun stuff like changing colors and fonts and layouts and whatever.

2. Advanced - Add CSS

Scroll down until you see Advanced, then find add CSS. This is where you will paste your code!

3. Find Your Code & Copy Paste

I actually just typed "Sparkle Trail Cursor CSS" into google and found a code that way. So I'm sure you could do that by typing anything you want. I know there are dedicated websites that have a bunch of cool cursors and cursor effects that you could play around with. If you want my exact code again just comment or message me and I'll send you it!

My Signature

This was something random that kind of came into my mind and now I love it so much. I just made this on Canva, I played around with a bunch of different fonts until I found one I liked and then I just arranged it. I got a free trial for canva so that I could save it with a transparent background lol, 10/10 idea. Alternatively, you could make your canva background the same color as your blog post backgrounds so that it would seamlessly fit in!
